Why Dan Burton for Utah County Sheriff?
My name is Dan Burton and I’m asking for your vote for Utah County Sheriff. I am running for sheriff because now, more than ever, there is a need for a leader who can improve the efficiency of operations while decreasing waste and lead the great people of the sheriff’s office by example from the front lines. After serving an LDS mission, I chose to serve my country in the U.S. Army, where I served in the Military Police Corps. My family has a strong history of honorable military service. I felt it was my privilege, responsibility and duty to serve. I have continued in public service, where I now serve the citizens of Utah County as a deputy sheriff.
After careful consideration and deliberation with my wife, colleagues, and neighbors, I decided to enter this race. These are challenging times in law enforcement. Crime is increasing and becoming more sophisticated while resources are limited and budgets are shrinking. If my years in the military police taught me anything, it is that efficiency is paramount to effective operations and waste cannot be tolerated. Moreover, the best leaders are found in the trenches with the men and women they lead. Dan Burton wants to be your sheriff, but he will need your help and support to get there.
